How to get the Computer icon on the Desktop in windows 7 RC (Build 7001, Release Candidate)

1. Right click Desktop, Personalization
2. On the left side of the window, click Change Desktop icons
3. Check the boxes for the icons you want on the desktop
4. Click OK to close the Change Icons dialog box
5. Close Personalization

How to put the Computer etc. icon on the Desktop

 

Have you ever wondered where the My Computer icon etc. that was on the desktop in previous versions of Windows gone in Windows XP and Vista. Well here is how to put the icons back on the Desktop

Windows Vista
1. Right click desktop, personalization
2. Change Desktop icons (on the left hand side of the window)
3. Choose the icons you want on the desktop and click OK to close the Change Desktop Icons dialog box
4. Close Personalization

1. Right click desktop, Properties
2. Desktop tab
3. click “Customize Desktop” button
4. Select icons you want on desktop
5. Click OK to close the dialog box.
6. Click OK to close the Display Properties window to apply the settings
